Kerala Media Academy was established on March 19th 1979 as Kerala Press Academy. It is a joint venture of the Government of Kerala, Kerala Union of Working Journalists and Indian Newspaper Society. The aim is to promote professionalism and excellence among journalists, which the academy has been doing successfully for the last more than three decades. The Academy has set up a full-fledged institute, published books and monographs, organized seminars/workshops and instituted endowments and awards for promoting excellence.

I am R.S.Babu, the chairman of Kerala Media Academy. Kerala Media Academy has been successfully promoting professionalism and excellence among journalists for the last many years.Now, as a new step, we are reaching out to the global malayali through the medium of internet radio, with our students performing as RJs. It is aimed to bring together malayali listeners all over the world and give them the best of entertainment. Apart from the internet radio, we are also planning to begin some other new projects too. They include shabda maram, the tree of voice, a new venture that helps the school students enjoy our radio programmes during their leisure time. That may be followed by the establishment of a new audio academy. The new internet radio named as Radio Kerala is being inaugurated on 25th of April, 2019. We expect the blessings and cooperation of all of you.
